David Graeber's floral paperweight, entitled "Miniature Asian Roses", is his first in the Stankard Studio Edition. Working in glass, Graeber has refined his technique under the tutelage of studio artist Paul Stankard over the last sixteen years. While on a visit to Japan in 1998, David became fascinated with the Japanese subtle celebration of nature and the use of bamboo in daily society. The entwined roses around bamboo shoots allude to the human interaction with nature. Coming to glass from a woodworking tradition, David, a consummate craftsperson, has complimented his skills with an Associate Degree in Fine Arts from Camden County College and course work at Rowan University, both in New Jersey.
